The SCMRC’s Cardiovascular Regeneration Focus Group is announcing a call for Precision Medicine-focused pilot proposals that use induced pluripotent stem cell technologies to explore novel translational cardiovascular disease models and/or treatment approaches.
The goals of this funding are to:
- Catalyze multi-PI projects to enable successful competition for major extramural funding (NIH P01, U01 or like) with budget up to $100K (one proposal will be funded)
- Provide support to single or multi-PI projects requiring resources (e.g. iPSC lines, scRNA-seq datasets) for future extramural funding with budgets up $50K (two proposals will be funded).
Criteria for proposals are listed below:
- At least one PI must be a SCMRC cardiovascular regeneration focus group member
- Proposals should indicate
- information gaps and precision-medicine goals supported by the proposed work
- how results will be used to obtain future funding (including targeted grant mechanisms)
- how this proposal builds upon prior multidisciplinary collaboration and/or how newly forged collaborations will strengthen future funding opportunities as relevant
- plan for making data, tissues and/or new cells available to all SCMRC/UW-Madison investigators
Application Format:
- Proposals must briefly address gaps/goals (as above), innovation, approach, future grants, new/existing multidisciplinary collaborations as relevant (Max: 1 page)
- Figures and/or tables (Optional, Max: 1 page)
- References (Max: 1 page)
- Arial 11pt, 0.5-inch margins (NIH style references)
- NIH biosketches of PIs’ only
- Budget must be provided in a simplified table format for collaborative (up to $100K) or resources focused (up to $50K). No faculty salary support is permitted.
Due date: March 17, 2025
Please submit proposal as a single collated document to scrmc@medicine.wisc.edu as well as any questions.
