A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available for development and engineering of immune effector cells with synthetic cytokines for cancer and immune disorders under Group Leader, Jacques Galipeau, MD.
The Galipeau group is located in state-of-the-art laboratory space at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Carbone Cancer Center. The group is internationally recognized for its work on mesenchymal stromal cells, engineered fusion cytokines for cancer therapy and for neuroinflammatory disease and seeks to add a postdoctoral Fellow to its research program. The successful applicant will lead a mentored pre-clinical research project with potential for direct clinical translation. The candidate will develop and study the physiology and translational use of novel engineered fusokines for therapy applications in cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and neuro-immune disorders. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the preparation of manuscript and reports and to regularly present their findings at meetings, lab meetings and national/international symposia. Requirements: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant area of biomedical sciences and evidence of past productivity. The candidate should have experience working with tissue culture of cell lines and primary cell lines and have basic skills in biochemistry and molecular biology, as well as willingness to learn new techniques. Experience with flow cytometry and willingness to work with murine animal models of human disease is desired.
