Title: Engineering vascularized tissues to study cell-cell communication

Abstract: My lab is interested in building vascularized human tissue models, in order to study how cell-cell communication influences development, regeneration, and disease. In this talk, I will first discuss how tissue and cell engineering tools can be combined to control the formation of functional vasculature within engineered tissues. Then, I will discuss how we have applied human tissue models to study the influence of vasculature on brain cancer progression and hematopoietic stem cell behavior. Finally, I will highlight ongoing research projects in my lab, as well as opportunities for collaboration with the broader SCRMC community.
