Abstract: A major challenge for stem cell engineering is a holistic understanding of molecular networks and biological processes governing cell differentiation. In this seminar, I will describe a conceptual roadmap for the multi-level computational integration of transcriptional and signaling networks. By fusing gene expression analysis, proteomic pathway informatics, and cell signaling modeling techniques, this platform yielded novel insights into signaling pathways mediating hematopoietic specification and more generally illustrates the utility of an integrative systems perspective to ascertain new regulatory processes and nodes useful in cell engineering and regenerative therapeutics.
