Relevant Research Description
My research has been primarily based at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center for more than 35 years. During this time my lab members and collaborators and I have developed and used nonhuman primate models (e.g., rhesus macaques) to characterize various conditions for the purpose of improving human health and quality of life. Various phases of our research have focused on pregnancy and fetal development, gonadal hormones and metabolism, endometriosis, obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and nutrition and aging. In addition, I am a member of several graduate training programs and director for translational technologies and resources for the Institute of Clinical and Translational Research.
