Participating Faculty and Staff
Currently, UW–Madison has more than 60 faculty and staff members working in many disciplines engaged in stem cell research. The work ranges from basic science in important animal models such as nonhuman primates to studies of human embryonic, adult and cancer stem cells. The ultimate goals of this research are to help develop a full basic understanding of stem cells, their properties, how they work and how they might be applied to treat human disease.
